About Troop 123
Troop 123 has about 50 registered Scouts presently, with both males and females, since the BSA opened Scouting to females in 2019. The troop features Scouts from many different school systems, but the primary schools are based in Edina and Hopkins. Several years ago, Troop 123 welcomed Scouts and adults from Hopkins, which has made our Troop even better. The Troop website has changed URLs; the current website can be found here.
The Scouting program remains largely the same, although dues have increased and a new Eagle-required merit badge has been introduced: Citizenship in Society. The Troop continues to send crews on high adventure trips, which have included Philmont and Sea Base in the past year.
Shepherd of the Hills remains a great home and sponsoring organization for Troop 123. Paster Scott Searl left Shepherd of the Hills, and Rev. Dr. Yolanda Denson-Byers arrived in July 2023.
The Troop is proud of its Eagle Scouts, and continues to produce many Eagles, thanks to great adult involvement as merit badge counselors. If you'd like to help, please consider serving as a merit badge counselor, or an Eagle mentor, or we can always use help at Voyager Bay. Click here to volunteer!

We would like to capture the history of both Troop 123 and Voyager Bay, but we don't have a complete history to go from.
If you can supply information and approximate dates, we can generate a Wiki-style history.
