"Voyager Bay - the Next 50 Years" is a volunteer led planning and fundraising effort with the goal of maintaining, restoring, and expanding the beauty, safety and utility of the Voyager Bay Campground located on Lake Washburn in Crow Wing County, MN.
Troop 123 has a long history at this location. Many current and former troop members consider trips to the camp to be the favorite part of their Scouting experience. Troop 123's sponsoring organization, Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Edina has made this land available for its use. However, maintaining the land and needed infrastructure requires a significant effort and some cost as well.
The Next 50 Years project’s goal is to maintain and upgrade core parts of the camp so it can remain a positive and formative experience for Scouts and Troop 123 for years to come. The Troop is grateful for those who came before and provided some buildings, water lines, and shooting sports ranges. The Next 50 Years team has general goals, like catching up on deferred maintenance and campground improvements, and loftier goals, like a replacement A-frame & dining pavilion. The "Next 50" team has put together some priorities for investment, and is formulating a total fund raising goal. We need your help!
